WHY “PERSECUTED CHRISTIAN FORUM” (PCF)?
CHRISTIAN + PERSECTION = HEAVEN ETERNAL LIFE@ JERUSALEM Mathaiah.
The Vision Behind Selecting the Name PCF
Christianity teaches us to look beyond this temporary world toward the eternal Kingdom of God. Jesus Christ never promised His followers a life without difficulties. Instead, He warned that His disciples could face opposition and persecution because of their faith.
“If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.”
— John 15:20
It was with this understanding that Jerusalem Mathaiah and his team chose the name “Persecuted Christian Forum – PCF.”
The name is not intended to glorify suffering or create conflict. It represents a commitment to stand beside Christians who face persecution, discrimination, threats, violence, harassment, or injustice because of their faith, and to help them respond peacefully, lawfully, and courageously.
Why PCF Became Necessary
Across India, Christians—including pastors, church workers and ordinary believers—have reported incidents involving church attacks, disruption of worship, social pressure, threats, physical violence, false or disputed allegations, and difficulties connected with religious activities.
At the same time, several Indian states have enacted or proposed laws regulating religious conversion. These laws are presented by governments as measures against forced or fraudulent conversion, while Christian organizations and others have raised concerns about their possible impact on freedom of conscience and the constitutional right to profess, practice and propagate religion.
For PCF, these developments make it important for Christians to understand their rights and responsibilities and to respond through constitutional and democratic institutions rather than violence or retaliation.
“Stand firm, then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.”
— Ephesians 6:14
The Meaning of “Persecuted”
The word “Persecuted” in PCF does not mean that Christians should seek suffering or confront others. Rather, it reminds us of Christians who are suffering because of their faith and of the Biblical responsibility to stand with people who are in distress.
The Bible says:
“Remember those in prison as if you were together with them, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”
— Hebrews 13:3
Jesus also taught His followers to be peacemakers:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
— Matthew 5:9
Therefore, PCF seeks to transform fear into courage, confusion into legal awareness, and persecution into an opportunity to demonstrate faith, peace and justice.
Jerusalem Mathaiah and the PCF Team
With this conviction, Jerusalem Mathaiah and his team began PCF activities to safeguard the Christian community and strengthen Christians across India, irrespective of denomination, background, region, or differing Christian traditions.
The objective is not political power or personal gain. The objective is to protect religious freedom, support vulnerable Christians, promote unity, provide lawful assistance, and encourage Christians to exercise their constitutional rights responsibly.
PCF believes that Christians with different denominations and different theological or organizational approaches can still stand together when fundamental rights, human dignity, and religious freedom are at stake.
“If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.”
— 1 Corinthians 12:26
Our Way Forward
PCF believes that protection must always operate within the framework of the Constitution of India and the rule of law.
Therefore, PCF seeks to work through:
- Lawful complaints and representations
- Police and administrative authorities
- Legal assistance and access to justice
- Human-rights and constitutional mechanisms
- Peaceful democratic advocacy
- Awareness of constitutional rights and responsibilities
- Assistance to victims of religiously motivated violence or harassment
- Dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution
- Support for churches, pastors, families and Christian communities facing genuine difficulties
PCF does not support violence, revenge, hatred, intimidation, or unlawful retaliation against any person or community.
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
— Romans 12:21
A Mission of Courage, Peace and Freedom
The name Persecuted Christian Forum therefore carries a simple message:
When Christians are persecuted, they should not stand alone.
PCF seeks to stand beside them—not with violence, but with faith, truth, law, constitutional rights, prayer, unity and peaceful action.
Our hope is that Christians in India will become stronger, better informed, more united and more confident in exercising their constitutional freedoms while respecting the rights and dignity of every other citizen.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7
