Worldwide Persecution of Christians

A Global Concern

Christian persecution is experienced in different ways across different parts of the world. In some places, Christians may face violence or imprisonment. In others, they may experience discrimination, restrictions on worship, social pressure, threats, or difficulties in practicing their faith openly.

The nature and severity of persecution vary significantly between countries and communities. Therefore, understanding the local context is important when discussing the experiences of persecuted Christians.

Different Forms of Persecution

Persecution can take many forms, including:

  • Violence or physical attacks because of Christian identity or activity
  • Threats against individuals, churches, or Christian leaders
  • Destruction or damage of churches and Christian property
  • Restrictions on worship or religious activities
  • Discrimination in education, employment, housing, or public life
  • Pressure to abandon or hide one’s Christian faith
  • Forced displacement of Christian families and communities
  • Arrest or legal difficulties connected to religious activity

Christians Supporting Christians

Christians around the world are connected through faith. When one Christian community suffers, other believers can respond through prayer, awareness, encouragement, humanitarian assistance, and peaceful advocacy.

PRSCN seeks to contribute to this global awareness by providing a platform where the experiences and concerns of persecuted Christians can be recognized and remembered.

A Call for Peace and Justice

Responding to persecution should never mean promoting hatred against another religion, community, or nationality. The Christian response should uphold human dignity and seek justice while maintaining the teachings of Christ.

PRSCN encourages Christians and communities to pray for those facing persecution, support affected families, promote religious freedom, and work toward peaceful coexistence.

Hope Beyond Persecution

Despite the difficulties faced by Christians in many regions, communities continue to worship, serve others, care for the vulnerable, and live out their faith.

The worldwide Church is reminded that persecution should not silence compassion or hope. Standing together in faith, prayer, and love can strengthen communities facing hardship.
