✝️ RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION
THE CREATOR vs. CREATION
“RELIGION CONVERTS HUMANITY UNTO DIVINITY, BUT RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION MAKES HUMANITY INTO EVIL.”
1. GOD, THE CREATOR, AND THE PURPOSE OF HUMANITY
God is the Creator of humanity and created man in His own image. According to Christian faith, humanity was created with a noble and eternal purpose: to know God, live for God, reflect His character, and ultimately attain eternal life and participation in His divine nature.
God established commandments, principles, and precepts by which humanity could live in righteousness, holiness, love, truth, and obedience to Him. His purpose is not the destruction of humanity but the redemption, transformation, and eternal life of those who follow Him.
Therefore, religious faith, when genuinely directed toward God, should lead humanity toward righteousness, holiness, love, truth, and the purposes of the Creator.
2. THE CREATOR VS. CREATION — THE SPIRITUAL CONFLICT
Christian theology teaches that there is an unseen spiritual conflict between God, His creation, and forces that oppose God’s purposes.
According to this understanding, the adversary seeks to alienate humanity from God and obstruct humanity from fulfilling the eternal purpose for which God created it.
Within this spiritual conflict, persecution can become a weapon used against people who seek to worship and follow God.
Religious persecution therefore is not merely a social disagreement. When faith becomes the reason for hatred, oppression, intimidation, violence, or forced abandonment of belief, it attacks the dignity and freedom of the human person and obstructs peaceful obedience to God.
3. JEHOVAH — THE LORD JESUS CHRIST — THE CREATOR
Christian faith identifies Jehovah as the living God and confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Creator.
The Christian understanding is that the Creator is sovereign over creation and that humanity ultimately belongs to God.
Therefore, the persecution of Christians because of their faith is understood within Christianity as opposition to people who seek to remain faithful to the Creator and to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
4. CHRISTIANS AND RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION
Throughout history and in the present day, Christians in different parts of the world have experienced religious persecution.
Persecution can be committed by individuals, extremist groups, mobs, institutions, or other organized actors. The perpetrators may come from different ideological, political, social, or religious backgrounds.
The existence of persecution by particular individuals or groups should not be used as a justification for hatred against an entire religious community.
For PCF, the central concern is clear:
A CHRISTIAN SHOULD NOT BE PERSECUTED BECAUSE HE OR SHE IS A CHRISTIAN.
Every believer should have the freedom to worship God, follow Jesus Christ, attend church, pray, read the Bible, share the Gospel peacefully, and live according to Christian faith without fear of violence or unlawful persecution.
5. WHAT IS RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION?
Religious persecution occurs when a person or community experiences hostility, discrimination, threats, intimidation, restrictions, harassment, destruction of property, or violence because of religious faith or identity.
For Christians, persecution may include:
- Pressure to renounce or hide Christian faith
- Threats or intimidation against believers
- Physical attacks or violence
- Opposition to peaceful Christian worship
- Harassment of pastors, ministers, or church members
- Social exclusion because of Christian identity
- Destruction or damage of churches or Christian property
- Unlawful restrictions on peaceful religious activities
- Harassment through social media because of Christian faith
- False accusations or malicious complaints intended to intimidate believers
- Pressure against Christian evangelism or peaceful religious expression
- Attacks against Christian families, institutions, schools, or communities
Persecution can affect individuals, families, children, pastors, churches, Christian institutions, and entire communities.
6. WHY MUST RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION BE STOPPED?
Religious persecution must be stopped because it damages both humanity and the purposes of the Creator.
A. IT ATTACKS HUMAN DIGNITY
Every human being is created by God. Therefore, treating another person as an enemy merely because of religious identity violates the dignity that God has given humanity.
B. IT DESTROYS LOVE AND REPLACES IT WITH HATRED
Faith should lead people toward righteousness, love, forgiveness, truth, and service.
Persecution replaces these qualities with fear, hatred, revenge, violence, and oppression.
C. IT PREVENTS PEOPLE FROM SEEKING GOD FREELY
A person should not be forced to abandon faith through threats, violence, intimidation, or coercion.
D. IT DAMAGES FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES
Persecution does not affect only the immediate victim. It can create fear among children, families, churches, and entire communities.
E. IT CREATES A CYCLE OF VIOLENCE
Persecution can produce retaliation, retaliation can produce further hostility, and hostility can develop into continuing cycles of violence.
The Christian response must therefore reject revenge while firmly seeking truth, justice, protection, and lawful accountability.
F. IT OPPOSES THE CHRISTIAN CALL TO LOVE
Jesus Christ teaches His followers to love, forgive, pray, and overcome evil with good.
Therefore, Christians should oppose persecution without becoming persecutors themselves.
7. HOW CAN RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION BE PREVENTED?
Preventing persecution requires action before, during, and after an incident.
1. PRAYER
Christians should pray for persecuted believers, their families, churches, communities, and even those who persecute them.
Prayer strengthens victims and encourages the Christian community to respond with wisdom rather than fear or revenge.
2. CHRISTIAN AWARENESS
Churches and Christian organizations should educate believers about:
- Religious freedom
- Constitutional and legal rights
- Peaceful Christian conduct
- Emergency response
- Responsible documentation
- Legal procedures
- Community support
3. EARLY WARNING
Communities should recognize warning signs such as:
- Increasing threats
- Repeated harassment
- Incitement to violence
- Attacks on churches or Christian property
- Targeted online harassment
- Attempts to forcibly prevent peaceful worship
Early reporting can sometimes prevent a situation from becoming violent.
4. RESPONSIBLE DOCUMENTATION
When persecution occurs, victims should preserve relevant evidence, including:
- Dates and locations
- Photographs and videos
- Medical records
- Witness information
- Messages and social-media evidence
- Police complaints
- Property-damage records
- Other relevant documents
Documentation should be truthful, lawful, and responsibly preserved.
5. IMMEDIATE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
When there is an immediate threat to life or safety, victims should contact the appropriate emergency services and law-enforcement authorities.
Christian communities should also provide practical assistance to affected families where possible.
6. LEGAL ASSISTANCE
Victims should have access to appropriate legal advice and lawful mechanisms for:
- Filing complaints
- Seeking protection
- Obtaining medical assistance
- Addressing unlawful discrimination
- Seeking compensation or relief where legally available
- Pursuing accountability for criminal acts
7. CHURCH AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT
A persecuted Christian should not be left isolated.
Churches and Christian organizations can provide:
- Prayer
- Counselling
- Fellowship
- Temporary practical assistance
- Family support
- Medical assistance
- Legal referrals
- Assistance in communicating with appropriate authorities
8. PEACEFUL CHRISTIAN ADVOCACY
Christians can peacefully advocate for:
- Freedom of religion
- Protection of churches
- Protection of Christian families
- Equal treatment under law
- Protection from violence
- Justice for victims
- Lawful accountability for perpetrators
Advocacy should remain peaceful, truthful, lawful, and free from revenge or hatred.
8. THE CHRISTIAN RESPONSE TO PERSECUTION
The Christian response is not surrender to injustice, nor is it revenge.
It is:
FAITH + PRAYER + TRUTH + COURAGE + JUSTICE + LOVE
Christians should stand firmly for Jesus Christ while refusing to become persecutors themselves.
The persecuted should receive protection.
The truth should be documented.
The innocent should be defended.
Criminal acts should be reported through lawful channels.
Victims should receive support.
And hatred should not be allowed to determine the response.

12. FINAL CHRISTIAN DECLARATION
THE CREATOR VS. CREATION
God created humanity in His image and gave humanity an eternal purpose.
Jesus Christ is confessed by Christians as Lord and Creator.
The Christian faith teaches that humanity belongs to God and is called to live in truth, righteousness, holiness, love, and obedience to Him.
Therefore, persecution based on Christian faith must be opposed.
Christians who are persecuted should not be abandoned.
The Church should pray.
The Christian community should stand together.
Victims should receive practical and lawful assistance.
Truth should be preserved.
Justice should be pursued.
Persecution should be prevented wherever possible.
And Christians should respond to persecution without hatred or revenge.

Religious PERSECUTION
Understanding Religious Persecution
Religious persecution occurs when individuals or communities face hostility, discrimination, threats, restrictions, or violence because of their religious faith or religious identity. For Christians, persecution can take many forms and can happen in private, public, social, institutional, or community settings.
The experience of persecution is different from one country, region, and community to another. In some situations, Christians may face severe violence, while in others they may experience social discrimination, pressure to abandon their faith, restrictions on religious activities, or difficulties in practicing their beliefs openly.
Forms of Religious Persecution
Religious persecution may include:
- Pressure to renounce or hide one’s Christian faith
- Discrimination because of Christian identity
- Threats or intimidation against believers
- Opposition to Christian evangelism or religious activities
- Social exclusion or harassment
- Restrictions affecting religious expression
- Destruction or damage of religious property
- Violence against individuals or Christian communities
These experiences can affect not only individual believers but also families, churches, children, and entire communities.
A Christian Response
The Christian response to persecution should be based on faith, wisdom, truth, and love. Christians are called to stand firmly in their faith while avoiding hatred and retaliation.
PRSCN seeks to create awareness about genuine cases of religious persecution and encourage Christians to support affected individuals through prayer, fellowship, practical assistance, and peaceful advocacy.
Religious Freedom for Everyone
The protection of religious freedom should apply to every person. Christians, people of other religions, and people with no religious belief should be treated with dignity and respect.
PRSCN believes that addressing persecution should contribute to a society where people can practice their faith peacefully without fear.
Standing With the Persecuted
When a Christian faces persecution, silence and isolation can make the situation more difficult. Awareness, responsible documentation, community support, and appropriate legal or institutional assistance can help affected people respond to difficult circumstances.
PRSCN seeks to be a platform for awareness, encouragement, and peaceful support for Christians facing religious persecution.
